Rest

Part 1: Let It Go — Release

We start where the body is. You'll move through slow, supported practices designed to help you soften the grip — in your lower back, your hips, your nervous system. No force. Just permission.

Release

Part 2: Let It Flow — Ease

Once the body releases, we create safety. Through restorative postures and grounding breathwork, you'll signal to your nervous system that it is safe to slow down. Safe to rest. Safe to receive.

Remember

Part 3: Rest is Remembrance - Activate

This is where you reconnect. Through a grounding joy flow and real-life workday resets, you'll carry this regulation withyou — not just on the mat, but in your life.

Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I’m Jahdea...

I’m a 200 HR RYT, social scientist, and Jamaican immigrant who knows firsthand what it feels like to carry ambition, ancestral pressure, and systemic stress all at once.

In my 20s, burnout didn't announce itself. It showed up as chronic headaches, back pain, and a body I was taught to listen to. I kept pushing. Tensing all the way. I didn't know.

Yoga changed that. Not the kind that asks you to be flexible or perfect — the kind that whispers: it's safe to slow down. It's safe to come home.

Through embodiment practices rooted in nervous system science and ancestral wisdom, I'm learning (forever learning) how to rest, root, and rise.

I created Rested & Resilient for the woman I used to be. The one running on empty, holding tension in places she didn't even know were tight, wondering why rest felt so out of reach.

This is your permission slip. Your mat, your pace, your body. No guilt. No perfection required.

Wellness is our birthright. Let's remember that together.

Commit 100% to the steps in this roadmap and you'll leave feeling what you forgot was possible — lighter, softer, and home to yourself — maybe for the first time in years.

Who is Rested & Resilient For?

You're an over performing Black or melanated woman running on empty.

  • You carry tension in your body but don't know how to release it

  • You feel guilty for resting — like you have to earn it

  • You've tried yoga before but it didn't feel made for you

  • You're ready to stop surviving and start returning to yourself

Who This Is NOT For?

  • Someone looking for an intense workout

  • Someone who wants quick fixes without presence

  • Someone not ready to slow down — even a little

The Transformation

Before

Gripping through every day. Exhausted but can't rest. Guilty for wanting to slow down.

After

You've moved through 3 practices that helped you release survival tension, create real calm, and remember — rest is not weakness. It is resistance. It is remembrance. It is your root.

Testimonials

Beautiful"

Jahdea has such a beautiful perspective and approach to yoga. Listening to her speak and teach reminds me how healing and necessary this practice is. I've practiced yoga for 8+ years and to this day her class was one of the most gentle peaceful classes I've taken. I'm so happy to see her sharing her gift on a larger scale!

"Really, really love!"

I became a member of True North Yoga and Jahdea became one of our instructors there. She was teaching a Vin Yin class and I was so impressed!! It was literally one of the best classes that I had taken in Yoga!! She takes her time with you, shows you the correct way to do your stretches, has fantastic calming music and is extremely graceful in her approach to Yoga. I highly recommend....
